February 8, 2012 7:00 p.m. in the Delaware Room at Anthem Center The topic for this program is "BONDS 101", covering bond types, quality, risk, ratings and more. Our speakers are with Southwest Securities Inc., one of the nation's top clearing firms, and one of the leading Southwest regional securities firms. Southwest Securities Inc. (which acquired M.L. Stern in March 2008) provides securities brokerage, corporate finance, and investment management services. Our speakers will be: Paul Cowan, a Branch Manager with Southwest Securities Inc.; David Gotz, a Senior Vice President focusing on fixed income securities and fee-based asset management; and Marlene Gotz, a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative with Southwest Securities, Inc. |
We will be having our Guess the Dow Contest again. The contest can be entered at our March or April meeting. You try to predict the Dow Jones Average close on June 30, 2012. |

Our Topic: The Tax Outlook - 2011, 2012 and Beyond Our speaker will be: Curt Anderson Chief Executive Officer Fair, Anderson & Langerman, CPAs The Tax Outlook - 2011, 2012 and Beyond Prognosticating the future tax picture can be a difficult exercise, especially in an election year when candidates are proposing massive overhauls. As accountants and professional advisors, it is our job to evaluate the landscape and help our clients make the best decision with the information we have. We know that based on the country's current debt crisis that taxes will likely increase. On March 14th we will be taking a look at the current tax landscape as well as proposed tax initiatives and how they affect the American people. We will also discuss some proactive tax strategies to help prepare for inevitable tax hikes as well as strategies to help preserve wealth. About Curt Anderson Curt Anderson co-founded Fair, Anderson & Langerman (FAL) in 1988 after a 12 year career with a national accounting firm. Highly successful with the national firm, he was promoted to partner and served as a member of the firm's board of directors. Throughout a more than 35 year career, Curt has gained experience in a variety of diverse industries on the local, national and international levels. His experience includes federal, multi-state and international taxation; evaluation and structuring of corporate mergers and acquisitions; estate planning and related tax matters for income, gifts, and estate taxation; and tax minimization planning for individuals and corporations. |
