Michele Shafe, Assistant Director of Assessment
Services in the Clark County Assessor's Office, spoke to
the club on April 14th. She gave a thorough update on
the property tax assessment process and revenue
stream for Clark County in 2011 as compared to past
years. The revenue for 2011 is about the same as it was
for 2006. She also provided information on the Senior
Citizens Tax Assistance Program and the various
exemptions that are available for surviving spouses,
veterans, and blind persons. Literature about these
programs was provided.
