Christopher Sheldon, Director of Investment Strategy, BNY Mellon Wealth Management spoke to the members on the current market conditions and how we got there. He also provided his assessment of the current situation vis-a-vis other recessions, which lead to his estimate of where we are in this recession, and what some of the future indicators might be. He believed that conditions will continue to deteriorate, painfully, and that the bottom may be reached within the next six months, with a longer recovery time than in other recessions. He provided his opinion on buying and selling of stocks at this point. A lively Q & A followed. |
